Implants

A dental implant may be an ideal tooth restoration for people who are missing one or more teeth. A dental implant is a titanium man-made root that is surgically positioned into the jaw. Once the implant is in place, and bone surrounding the implant has had time to heal, a replacement tooth or bridge is attached to the metallic root.(s) Implants may be a more favorable approach than bridgework since they do not depend on neighboring teeth for support.

Small “Mini” implants are used to help stabilize full and partial removable dentures.  These implants can be placed in areas that larger root size implants will not work.  These can be used with existing or new dentures and are commonly placed and attached to the dentures in one appointment.  Patients can receive these in the morning and eat a normal lunch that afternoon.
